Year Born: 1913 Year Died: 2014 Lester George Kreller, 101, died on May 27, 2014. He was born at the old Saint Alphonsus Hospital on March 6, 1913. Les loved Boise and was proud that he had lived his entire life here. He graduated from Boise High School in 1931 and then completed business school. Les married Elizabeth Piper in 1934 and they had one daughter, Joyce. He worked diligently to support his family. Les was employed in the wholesale grocery business for 44 years. After his wife Elizabeth’s death in 1970, Les married Patricia (Pat) Rice in 1971. During their retirement years he and Pat enjoyed fishing, backyard barbecues and card games with friends and family, and car trips. Les’ favorite hobby was trap shooting. He was an active member of the Boise Gun Club for over 60 years. Les was a charter member of the Fort Boise Optimist Club and was a member of many other fraternal and service organizations. In 1972, Les became a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Community and spent many years serving on their finance committee and as the coordinator of bulletin advertising. Les was a kind, honest, and dependable man. We will miss his twinkling blue eyes and cheery greeting, “Well, hi there.”Les was preceded in death by his first wife Elizabeth, his second wife Pat (d. 2006), his daughter Joyce Robinson (d. 2013), and his siblings Fred (Helen) Kreller and Mary (Al) Beattie. He is survived by his stepdaughter Carol (Tom) Martin, son-in-law Orin Robinson, granddaughter Kathleen (David) Graves, grandson Ryan (Michelle) Martin, grandson Kelly (Rebecca) Martin, and great-grandchildren Ashlynn, Arika, Ava, and Kade. |
